A famous television and movie actor friend of ours wrote in to describe a habit of stabbing stub carrots into the Yardbird Sweet jar on the end of a fork.  He found the combination so delicious that he “had to slow down because I was asked several times if I had suffered a tanning booth malfunction because of my orange pallor.”  We asked our medical department to weigh in, and they suggested drinking a quart of water between each bag of carrots to lessen their effect on the skin.  I never said my grillin’sauce wasn’t habit-forming!

We had a customer write in recently and ask if a turkey that had been hit by a snowplow was safe to eat.  The answer is ABSOLUTELY.  The basic rule of thumb here is:  if you can still tell it’s a turkey, it’s safe to eat.  If the bones are chopped up a bit, you might think  about making soup.  Just rinse out the cinders and have at it!
